Shinepukur Ceramics Ltd, a fully export oriented subsidiary of Beximco Group, is going to be listed directly on Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges tomorrow (Tuesday, November 18).
Earlier, Shinepukur Ceramics on October 30 got approval for direct listing following an application by the Beximco concern on October 5, 2008.
Chairman of Shinepukur Ceramics Mr Nazmul Hassan today (Monday) at a meeting with merchant bankers and investors made a presentation on the company at a city hotel in Dhaka.
The programme was also attended by Beximco Group Deputy Chairman Mr Salman F Rahman.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Salman Rahman said: “Direct listing ensures best value of the floated shares.
He hoped that Shinepukur Ceramics’ direct listing would encourage other private sector entrepreneurs to get listed on the stock market.
Shinepukur Ceramics Chairman Mr Nazmul Hassan said a total of 35,011,800 ordinary shares of Tk 10 each of Shinepukur Ceramics will be offloaded under direct listing regulations.
“Shinepukur ceramics is the single largest exporter of ceramic tableware of the country and contributes around 50 percent of the total export of tableware from Bangladesh.” He added.
Shinepukur Ceramics Ltd, equipped with the state-of-the-art machineries, has two independent units producing high quality Porcelain and Bone China Tableware. The Porcelain unit has a capacity of 65,000 pieces, while the capacity of the Bone China unit being 10,000 pieces a day.
Since commencement of commercial production at the end of 1999, Shinepukur has successfully developed a substantial export market for the top-of-the-line Bone China and Porcelain Tableware and the customer portfolio now includes world-renowned Tableware companies in the UK, USA, Spain, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Russia, UAE, Denmark, Germany, France, Mexico, and Turkey.
